Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has outperformed his teammate at all of the last five race weekends.
The McLaren driver just pipped fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who grabbed the title advantage from his teammate by a single point after winning in Mexico City a fortnight back, topped the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the leading McLaren during the running before sprint qualifying set to begin at the evening session.
Max Verstappen, the sole remaining contender in the championship fight, lying 36 points behind behind Norris, ended up in 17th position as his Red Bull team ran a different programme.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, though minor, when he spun at Turn Four during the early running.
Tsunoda spun out over the track edges before spinning across the gravel trap, and was fortunate to avoid just a light touch of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also spun, at the final moments of the practice, turning around through the fast downhill Mergulho corner approaching the last turn on to the pit straight.
Hamilton finished practice in 19th place, just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
Norris and Piastri were significantly quicker of the rest of the field, with Nico Hulkenberg's car P3, 0.619secs slower than Piastri's pace.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Bortoleto fifth from Mercedes' Russell and Alpine's Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
