The UK is ready to advance with employing the full worth of immobilized Russian holdings to bolster Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the move would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

United Kingdom restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow launched its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had exclusively been taken from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward using the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He stated that further restrictions over the next period would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after European leaders convened in Copenhagen recently to discuss using immobilized Russian assets for a €140 billion credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to confiscate or employ seized Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russian holdings in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Russia carried out extensive aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on Friday, leading to electricity outages in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were lost their lives and at least 20 people were wounded in the strike, authorities in Ukraine said.

In a message on social media after the incident, Zelensky wrote that the premeditated assault aimed at public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the PURL programme, under which Nato countries buy arms from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the Britain's firm backing for Ukraine, he said it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the program, as well as apply additional restrictions on Moscow.
